We're Introducing a New Facilitator Training Course

We're pleased to announce a brand new course to our range of Train the Trainer programmes.

Facilitator Training

This course has been created to address the specific requirements of facilitators. Facilitators are not neccesarily content experts, but instead need to be skilled in group processes and helping groups achieve goals. The course addresses these specific issues and consists of three intensive and interactive units.

What are the aims of the course?
The aim of this course is to provide a full coverage of important facilitator skills and help you have the self-confidence and presence needed to get results.

What are the objectives?
At the end of the course you will be able to: 

Recognise the different learning styles and adapt your delivery accordingly
Plan and design to gain commitment and enthusiasm
Recognise and use the main components of effective facilitation
Ensure a successful conclusion

What do the units cover?
There are 3 (plus a fourth optional unit) as follows:

Unit 1 How We Learn
Four Stages of Learning
Learning Styles

Unit 2 Effective Facilitation
Creating the Right Atmosphere
Using Aids and Resources
Encouraging Discussion
Asking and Dealing with Questions
Dealing with Difficult People
Dealing with Difficult Dynamics
Ensuring a Successful Conclusion

Unit 3 Planning
Creating Outcome-based Agendas

Unit 4 Micro-facilitation (optional)
This unit (available as a 2-day course) allows candidates to practice and demonstrate their facilitator skills by delivering a 10/15 minute micro session.

Who is the course aimed at?
Facilitator Training has been designed for facilitators and staff who regularly work with clients in a group basis and are looking for group management advice. This includes the care industry, mental health, employability and trainers working with young learners.

Is the course accredited?
The course is not accredited but you will receive a Certificate of Attendance

How long?
The course is delivered in one day (also available as two day course)

Where is it held?
Facilitator Training can be delivered at your premises or training premises can be arranged at an additional cost.

What's the cost?
The cost is from £350 per group (from £500 per group for 2 day course)

Following our sellout course in September, Gary Bedingfield Training are pleased to offer you the chance to attend another one-day Train the Trainer course in central Glasgow. Our Train the Trainer courses are among the most popular in Scotland and in constant demand.

This special event is open to a very limited number of attendees on a first-come-first-served basis.
Train the Trainer is an intensive course delivered over a single day; exploring areas such as learning styles, training resources, delivery styles, assessment and evaluation. It consists of five trainer-led sessions.

As most people will tell you, entering a training room for the first time can be a daunting and nerve-racking experience, and this course aims to make that experience as easy as possible, introducing you to the basics and helping you to quickly become effective and confident.

AIMS
At the end of the course you will be able to:
  • Recognise the different learning styles
  • Plan and design training to gain commitment and enthusiasm
  • Run a training session and supervise training
  • Check that your training is effective and that learning has occurred

Who is the course for?
Our 1-day Train the Trainer Express course was created due to popular demand to meet the needs of staff who are training to be trainers but have limited time available.
